  • Had a very good experience at Richy's 👍 He sorted out my 7 string sterling guitar and it now plays perfectly. Had a full set up and a new nut cut from scratch after I made a hash of the old one and it's made the world of difference. … read more Now I can go back to not be able to play dream theater songs! Highly recommended. Richy was also super helpful and knowledgeable and a jolly nice fellow too 👊

  • answer but a few moments later this bloke appeared from over my shoulder
saying “Hi looking for me I’m Richie?” And he put his hand on the top of my
the gig bag. After we introduced ourselves, it appeared that he had no idea
    about my appointment,
… read more but that didn’t matter much. We got on from the start,
really easy going. After we got over the appointment mix up, we wondered
about access, after all I had been through to get there in the first place I decided
not to climb the fire escape to his lair and handed the guitar over .I was
explaining what needed to be done but, as I was doing that, Richy flicked my
home made Bone nut loose. Embarrassing! He said don’t worry, I will fix it.
Exactly a week later I got a message saying it was done. So arranged a visit for
the next day, This time, I struggled up the fire escape. I was more curious about
his workshop than about my guitar. I had to call from the balcony as there is no
doorbell or intercom and indeed no signage. But he answered and appeared in a
short while. A crowded little workshop, obviously busy, and lots of guitars
lying waiting for repair and collection. A nice sofa. He handed me my strat and
pulled up a very impressive pedal board, not that I needed it. I explained to him
I hadn’t played for a while due to arthritis, etc, and I just wanted to get back
into it. The guitar was setup perfectly, and now, a few weeks later, it has even
kept its tuning, remarkable for a strat. It feels lovely and I am able to play
    again.
We had a bit of difficulty with payment methods mostly due to my banking app
not working, but we sorted that out. Richy helped me out of the building and
back to my buggy. And made sure I was safe to go. All together. A great
    experience.
So, Richy is a really nice bloke who knows what he’s doing. Great value and
genuine person. Venue is not the easiest to find, and he actually told me that
there is a vibrant artist, music community there including recording studios,
etc. However, there is no way you would know this from the outside, there are
no signs door entries etc but maybe this is deliberate or the not allowed by
landlords - I have no Idea, But that could be better, as could access, though
    Richy is willing to help.
If you liase by whatsapp, Richy is Brill! On the whole, he is well
    recommended.

  • To quote Vinnie Jones in Lock Stock,,,, "It's been emotional". I am a Luthier myself but can no longer due to disablility. This was strange paying some one to do a job I have the knowledge of doing. I brought a Charvel … read more Model 4 which presented a few head aches as its such a unique instrument.Parts are not available as it is out of production. I felt like a back seat driver trying to insult this mans intelligence by trying to tell him how to do his job. I need not have worried as he is a very capable professioinal. The job did drag on for over 6 weeks but there was a few unforseens along the way. You always learn when things don't go right. I couldn't be happier with the results, I recomend Richy very highly to my students, collegues and for those out there checking feedback out. I hope Richy increased his knowledge and experience after repairing this. I'm comming back with my Jackson and future work. Shouldn't be as challenging 😎

  • Richy is great. I recently bought a 1974 Fender strat, beautiful guitar, but it definitely needed some work. I had no idea what to do here so was recommended Richy.
I dropped it off and then picked it up after a couple of weeks and it
… read more plays absolutely amazingly. New frets, new nut, and a full setup. Richy kept me in the loop and made sure I was ok with the price of work that needed doing which I thought was nice.
It plays absolutely perfectly, wouldn't change a thing about it!
Richy also prices super fairly, I can tell a lot of work went into it, and the price is totally reasonable.
If you have a guitar that needs work, and you are in or around London, you gotta go to Richy's Guitars!

  • Took my high end Warwick bass to Richy for a full set up, fretboard clean and re-string. Very pleased with the results and great value for money. Added to that Richy is a really nice guy to deal with. Recommended to all bassists !

  • You can trust Richy 100% with taking care of your beloved instruments. Made my American Standard Telecaster from 2016 sound and play like it never did.
I was never happy with the stock nut these series came with, Richy replaced and cut
… read more a new, real bone nut that has made all the difference.
The set up is also perfect I must say, the guitar is now in tune now up and down the neck, like it never was, even after previous set ups elsewhere.
Knowing every note now is spot-on in tune and with good, long sustain, makes me more confident and happy when playing and recording.
Initially I thought a full refret was necessary, but with perfect nut cutting and set up, I can't put my Tele down now)
    Thank you Richy and Mikayla!

  • As crazy as it can sound, finding a good luthier is hard in London, tried few of them and I was never happy with the results, feel like they don’t spend enough time to understand the needs of each person. Richy did an amazing job setting … read more up my guitar, perfectly setup the way I wanted, in no time.
